Arts and Crafts activity for the week

You will need:

• A big, empty plastic bottle
• A balloon
• A straw
• Scissors

Method:

• Place a balloon in a bottle. Fix it in place by stretching the mouth of the balloon on the bottle. 
•  Make a small hole close to the base of the bottle with scissors.
•  Fit a straw into the hole. you can also seal it by applying glue around the straw.
•  Now, suck air through the straw.

What do you notice?

The balloon inflates! As you suck air through the straw, a vacuum is created inside the bottle. Air from outside rushes in to fill it. This air also fills the balloon and inflates it.
