I think it can go anyway because if you are the best people can come to you for help, and they can come to you as an enemy, with jealousy.
I think your reputation would be better because because people would appreciate your talent and ask you for help.
It would be better. People would appreciate you for your efforts.
It an change your reputation for better or for worse. It depends if you do your best at something good or bad.
